Examinations under Key Professional Programs
- Examinations for DBF and HDBF under the New Curriculum will be conducted commencing from March 2024
- Examinations for IABF and DABF under the Old Curriculum will continue until September 2025.
- Two examinations cycles are conducted for DBF, HDBF, IABF, and DABF in March and September under normal circumstances. These time periods are subject to change under unavoidable circumstances.
- Examinations are conducted in all three mediums of English, Sinhala, and Tamil
Examinations under Special Programs
- Examinations under Special Programs of Certificate Courses, Diploma Courses, Executive Diploma Courses, and Postgraduate Executive Diploma Courses are conducted according to the timetable related to each specific course.
All examinations are conducted by following international standards.

The examination results are released within twelve weeks after the final date of the examination subject to the approval of the Governing Board of the IBSL after careful scrutiny.
Results are released through the IBSL Website and Academic Transcripts are issued to members after each cycle of Examination. The original Certificates are issued to members who successfully complete the professional Examinations.
The examination results are not divulged by telephone, telegraph or fax.
The institute may withhold the release of results for the following reasons until issues are resolved:
If exam entry form is defective
For violation of examination rules
Candidate’s identity is not established and is disputed at the examination hall
For misconduct at the examination center
